David Shearer is a Corporate partner in the Netherlands and a member of our Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Group. He advises on a wide range of Corporate matters, with a focus on cross-border M&A, joint ventures and project development. He has significant experience in the oil & gas, renewable and conventional power and infrastructure sectors. He acts for corporate clients, power developers, oil & gas companies, trading companies and financial investors.
David has led on several high-profile matters, including acting as project counsel for a consortium of Stone City, EDF, Nebras Power and Siemens Energy on the development and financing of a €1.2bn combined-cycle gas turbine power plant in Uzbekistan, which project was recognised by IJGlobal as the APAC ‘Power and Transmission Deal of the Year’ for 2024. He also recently advised Nebras Power on its acquisition of a stake in UK offshore wind farms and Lightsource bp on the sale of a solar PV plant in the Netherlands.
He is ranked in The Legal 500 EMEA 2025 as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ for Energy transactions in the Netherlands.
