Matthew provides focussed, commercial advice on a wide range of corporate tax matters with a particular specialism in the asset management and FinTech sectors.
Matthew is a managing associate in the firm’s corporate tax group in London. He provides focussed, commercial advice on a wide range of matters covering all aspects of corporate tax, including cross border mergers and acquisitions, offerings in the debt and equity capital markets and hedge fund and private equity structures and investments.
Matthew has particular expertise in advising clients in the asset management and FinTech sectors. He understands that successful businesses are always moving forwards and enjoys helping clients navigate the tax implications of changes they are facing, whether it be the employment tax implications of changing working practices or the tax implications of a new FinTech product or service.
Matthew has also guided a wide range of clients through their facilitation of tax evasion risk assessments and implementation of relevant prevention procedures.
As chair of the firm’s tax peer network, Matthew is passionate about providing junior and mid-level tax professionals with opportunities to network and exchange ideas with their peers.
Matthew qualified into the corporate tax group in 2014 after having completed his training contract at the firm. He has completed a secondment to a leading institutional asset manager.
