Mark primarily advises financial institutions, funds and corporates on public and private mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and related work. He has a particular expertise in shareholder activism and has advised on a number of high profile public campaigns.

Recent work includes advising:

  • Chelsea FC on its sale to a consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital
  • APG Asset Management on the £1bn cash offer for GCP Student Living plc by a consortium formed by Scape Living PLC and iQSA
  • Future plc on its recommended cash and share offer for GoCo Group plc
  • Elliott in relation to various matters including the competing bids for Sky plc which were the subject of appeals to the Takeover Appeal Board
  • a European based fund in relation to a campaign to change the Board structure of a UK listed company

Mark was seconded for two years as secretary to the UK Panel on Takeovers and mergers and has subsequently acted as secretary to the Hearings Committee of the Panel and the Takeover Appeal Board. His public deals expertise has been acknowledged in the legal directories where he has been described as "spearheading advice on corporate finance and M&A matters" and as having “superb expertise in M&A and transactional matters”.
