ESG regulation and distribution of sustainable financial instruments

On April 6, 2022, the European Commission published the regulatory technical standards (RTS) to be applied by financial market participants when disclosing sustainability-related information under the SFDR. Subsequently, other SFDR-related publications were announced by ESMA and the European Commission. Among other things, the RTS are intended to facilitate the implementation of the sustainability preferences query. In this context, ESMA has been consulting on guidelines for the integration of sustainability preferences into the suitability test since January 27, 2022. A final version of the revised guidelines is probably not expected before August 2022.
