Double honour for Simmons at FT Innovative Lawyer Awards 2022

Managing partner Jeremy Hoyland scooped up the Innovative Leader Award, and the firm was also crowned most innovative in Designing the Client Experience.

International law firm Simmons & Simmons is pleased to announce that it has been recognised in two categories at the FT Innovative Lawyer Awards Europe 2022, with managing partner Jeremy Hoyland scooping the coveted Innovative Leader Award, whilst the firm was also crowned most innovative in Designing the Client Experience.

Now in his third term as managing partner, Jeremy was recognised for the way he has diversified the firm’s revenue streams with the creation of the Solutions arm of the business, with operations that now spread across Europe and into Asia. Chief among the successes of this innovation, was the acquisition of legal engineering platform Wavelength back in the Summer of 2019.

Simmons’ client programme team, led by Camilla D’Arcy, was recognised for a truly innovative approach to creating the client experience, with a client-centric collaboration model designed to accelerate relationships in a way that positions the firm as a tactical business partner capable of delivering smarter solutions for their clients’ most complex legal challenges.

The wins in these categories follow Simmons’ success in 2021, where the firm was lauded for its collaboration with the team that developed the HighNetWork app, winning the Innovation in People and Skills Award.

Congratulating Jeremy and Camilla on these wins, senior partner Julian Taylor said: “It is an incredible achievement for the firm to win twice at such a prestigious awards event. The FT Innovative Lawyer Awards seek out the best that the legal sector has to offer in terms of people and projects that are innovating to make tangible business improvements. Our win in the Designing the Client Experience category is truly a testament to the centrality of the client experience to our business model, which pushes our lawyers and business services teams to make sure we have the insight necessary to deliver for clients in increasingly turbulent times.”

Julian continued: “A win for Jeremy in the Innovative Leader category is a reflection of the outstanding work he has done over the last twelve years in transforming the firm, placing innovation and technology at the core of our client offering. Congratulations to Jeremy and the rest of the Simmons team involved in these wins.”

Simmons & Simmons was also shortlisted in the Law Firm of the Year, as well as Diversity & Inclusion and Practice of Law categories.
