Nick is an associate in the Derivatives & Trading team based in London.
Nick specialises in advising buy-side institutions on their derivatives and trading arrangements.
In particular, Nick regularly works with private capital managers on the construction and implementation of hedging strategies to mitigate foreign exchange and interest rate exposures, at both fund level and at asset level.
This includes:
- reviewing and negotiating the full spectrum of derivatives and trading documentation (including ISDA Master Agreements, repo, securities lending and custody documentation);
- advising on collateral arrangements (including mandatory regulatory collateral as well as commercial collateral arrangements); and
- advising on fund structuring to ensure optimal regulatory treatment; and - advising on compliance with associated regulation (including EMIR / UK EMIR and SFTR / UK SFTR).
In addition, Nick also has experience with advising other buy-side institutions, including institutional asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, corporates, and pension schemes, on their derivatives and trading documentation and related regulatory obligations.
