Government response to Grenfell Inquiry Phase 2 report – key points of interest for developers and contractors.
We advise many of the world's leading construction companies and their insurers on all aspects of disputes and professional risk. We defend construction professionals and their insurers faced with allegations of professional negligence. Additionally we also advise insurers on complex, high value policy coverage disputes involving underlying construction disputes.
Our team acts in court proceedings – predominantly in the Technology and Construction Court – as well as adjudications, mediations and international arbitrations. Drawing upon expertise from our offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, we expertly manage complex, multi-jurisdictional proceedings.
“Identified as a key player in the London market for a range of complex professional liability matters.” (Chambers UK 2017)
We work closely with specialists across the firm, including our non-contentious construction and real estate colleagues, to identify and advise on risk issues within the construction industry – including regulatory change and the associated risks for the construction and insurance sectors.
We also are advising a top 10 accounting firm on a £250m claim brought against it in its capacity as administrative receiver
Also we assisted a Big Four accounting firm in three HKICPA disciplinary matters arising from an infamous listed company fraud, which had resulted in several directors being given long jail terms
Acting for the liquidators (from Deloitte) of Espirito Santo Bank (Dubai) Ltd in a complex Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) liquidation including advising on a range of cross-border disputes, multi-jurisdictional regulatory issues, and conducting a wide-scale investigation into the activities of the company in the years leading up to its collapse
