HMRC vs BlueCrest: Immediate Insights from the Supreme Court Hearing

On Friday 30 January, we hosted a webinar reflecting on the Supreme Court hearing in BlueCrest Capital Management (UK) LLP v HMRC, concerning the application of Conditions A and B of the salaried member rules. The hearing took place on 28 and 29 January.

The webinar covered the background to the dispute, outlined the key facts and issues under appeal, and presented our immediate insights and reflections on the arguments put forward during the hearing, as well as any features of the case that the Supreme Court judges took particular interest in. When issued, the Supreme Court’s decision is expected to have a significant impact on asset managers operating through LLP structures, and we considered what the case may mean for affected businesses.
