International law firm Simmons & Simmons has won in three categories at The Oath Middle East Awards 2021.
Now in their sixth year, The Oath Awards recognises teams at law firms, general counsel and in-house lawyers who have demonstrated particular expertise and innovation over the year.
In addition to winning UAE Law Firm of the Year for its well established presence, clear and deep sector focus and digital innovation, Simmons also won IP Team of the Year and, once again, TMT Team of the Year. In the IP category, the Simmons team was recognised for its strategic role on a significant FinTech IP dispute and, in the TMT category, for its role on a first-of-its-kind technology venture which brought together a licensed telecoms operator and a licensed financial institution to form and grow a novel digital payments proposition set against fast evolving payments regulations.
Commenting on these wins, Middle East head Muneer Khan said: “It was a stellar evening for the firm – I’m pleased that our client-centric efforts around innovation, legal design and digital solutions were recognised by the judges. I congratulate all of the lawyers involved in the winning entries.”
Head of TMT and IP, Raza Rizvi, added: “These wins reinforce the value of our regional alignment with our global sector focus. This gives us a strong edge for clients who need world class lawyers who can apply international best practices on the most complex and high impact legal projects. We’ve enjoyed delivering these projects and it’s great to be recognised for them.”
