Supporting Weltix on Italy’s first tokenised structured note

Simmons & Simmons has advised Weltix on Italy’s first structured note recorded on a public blockchain

International law firm Simmons & Simmons advised blockchain-based financial register operator Weltix as Register Manager on Italy’s first structured note recorded on the Polygon POS public blockchain, a leading public blockchain platform.

The creation of the note enables secure, transparent, and efficient investment products for private clients, marking a major step forward for Italian financial innovation.

The product, issued by major banking group UniCredit for its Wealth Management clients and in compliance with Italian government legislation, offers capital protection and returns linked to Euribor 3M, with full digital lifecycle management enabled by BlockInvest’s platform.

Simmons & Simmons acted as legal advisor to Weltix, led by counsel Ugo Malvagna, who supported the company’s responsibilities as Register Manager and advised on the contractual arrangements for the establishment of the structure. The deal follows Simmons & Simmons’ recent advisory role on Italy’s first tokenised minibond for E4 Computer Engineering, reinforcing the firm’s leadership in blockchain-based financial innovation.
