Simmons & Simmons Named Law Firm of the Year at Risk Awards 2026

Simmons & Simmons has been awarded “Law Firm of the Year 2026” at the Risk Awards – most prestigious awards for global derivatives markets and risk management.

The "Law Firm of the Year" accolade recognises Simmons' outstanding work in delivering innovative legal solutions to clients, particularly through its global derivatives, trading and structured products offering.

The judges praised Simmons for its offering as a multi-specialist, "Swiss-army-knife law firm", commending its record in "solving some of the thorniest legal dilemmas for clients of all stripes in jurisdictions across the globe".

While other firms specialise in either the sell-side or buy-side of the derivatives market, Risk notes that Simmons has successfully "built a reputation for its balanced, cross-border practice, advising a diverse range of clients on some of the most complex legal challenges".

Recent successes cited included pioneering new forms of collateral in France, facilitating the first synthetic risk transfer deal in Singapore, and supporting the growth of the crypto market in the United Arab Emirates.

Craig Bisson, partner and Head of the firm's Derivatives and Trading practice, commented: "This major win of the Law Firm of the Year 2026 award recognises the quality and depth of Simmons' international practice in what has been a banner year for the firm. A relentless focus on talent and innovation has delivered fantastic new hires, cutting-edge mandates, deep industry collaboration and a seamless cross-border service to clients."

Oliver West, partner in the firm's Structured Finance & Derivatives practice, said: "This award is a reflection of the investment that we continue to make in our global derivatives, trading and structured products offering. It also illustrates the complexity and innovative nature of the mandates that we work on, the breadth and depth of expertise across our team and, not least, our exceptional clients, who we thank for their support with this award."
