International law firm Simmons & Simmons has been honoured with a global Good Design Award for its innovative internal data tool, Luminate Dashboards.

Founded in Chicago in 1950, The Good Design Award is one of the world’s oldest and most respected programmes for design excellence.

Simmons & Simmons’ Luminate is the first tool developed by a law firm to receive this prestigious recognition in the global competition, which attracts entries from over 55 countries.

Luminate is a suite of dashboards that present clear information designed to help the firm improve its efficiency, productivity and compliance across its 22 offices.

Developed by a team including Tom Kronenburg (Head of Data Architecture and Platforms) and Bijal Savadia (Senior Finance Systems Manager), the Luminate dashboards provide a centralised platform that transforms how the firm’s legal professionals manage performance, offering actionable insights tailored to every level of the firm.

Since its creation, Luminate has empowered Simmons & Simmons lawyers to optimise their workflow, enhance client service, and support strategic decision-making. Luminate was praised by the Good Design Award for its user-centric design, intuitive information architecture, and personalised guidance.

Tom Kronenburg commented: “I’m immensely proud of our team for its recognition alongside leading global innovators. Luminate has transformed how the firm works, exemplifying Simmons & Simmons’ commitment to exceptional client service through data-driven solutions. We look forward to further developing the tool next year to support the evolving needs of our legal professionals.
