Simmons & Simmons has advised global private equity group Midas Atlantic Partners, in partnership with international private investment firm The Najafi Companies, on the signing of an agreement to acquire the European Power and Battery Control Solutions business of Panasonic Industry, a part of the Panasonic group. The transaction comprises operations in Germany and Slovakia and is currently expected to close on 1 February 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
Panasonic Industry’s business is a leading European provider of power and battery control solutions for industrial and automotive applications. Its products include industrial power devices, wireless modules, battery disconnect units and high‑voltage DC‑DC converters for the mobility sector. Headquartered in Germany with large‑scale manufacturing in Slovakia, it serves a longstanding blue‑chip customer base across various end‑markets and generated revenues of approximately EUR 413 million in the fiscal year ending March 2026.
