International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced a significant hire to its London dispute resolution practice, with the hire of leading competition and antitrust partner, Mark Jephcott. Mark will arrive at the firm on 06 September.
Joining the firm from Herbert Smith Freehills, Mark has spent the last decade building his reputation in Asia as the driving force of HSF’s Asian competition practice, before relocating to the UK to focus his efforts on UK/ EU competition work. Prior to his time with HSF, Mark trained with Freshfields.
Throughout his career Mark has evolved a broad practice which involves advising his clients on everything from competition appeals, to multijurisdictional mergers and competition litigation. Mark’s clients are largely based in the technology, pharmaceutical and energy sectors.
Mark will join existing partners Satyen Dhana and Charles Bankes on the London competition and antitrust team.
Welcoming Mark to the firm, competition and antitrust lead Satyen Dhana commented: “With his extensive experience in building competition practices in various international jurisdictions, Mark will be well placed to help drive the ambitious growth plan that we have here at Simmons.”.
On joining the firm, Mark said: “Joining Simmons at this point, with the London competition team poised to expand, is a positive fit with my own experience of practice growth. Similarly, my expertise in the technology sector aligns strongly with the firm’s four sector strategy and I look forward to building relationships with Simmons’ leading technology-focused partners.”.
