International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced the hire of Hannah Shipley as Partner to lead the firm’s Middle East tax practice, based in its Dubai office.
Hannah brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial services tax and has advised clients across the Middle East and internationally, with a particular focus on the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Hannah’s practice spans tax advisory, operational tax, transactional support, tax controversy and tax policy, with a particular focus on financial institutions, asset managers and investment funds. Her appointment represents a significant enhancement of the firm’s regional capabilities as Simmons & Simmons continues to invest in the Middle East, following the opening of its Riyadh office in June and the launch of its ADGM office this week.
The expansion of the firm’s footprint across regional financial centres underlines Simmons & Simmons’ commitment to supporting clients as tax and regulatory frameworks continue to evolve rapidly across the Middle East. Hannah’s arrival enhances the firm’s ability to offer more integrated legal and tax advice across its growing regional platform.
