Simmons & Simmons’ German team is making a donation to the charity Herzenssache e.V. in support of children and families affected by the recent floods.

Simmons & Simmons has been following the news and images of the widespread devastation caused by the floods in Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria. In order to provide meaningful and effective support to the victims, the firm is donating a 145,000€.

Simmons & Simmons is donating the money to Herzenssache e.V, a charity which supports children and families in need, who have lost their homes due to the catastrophic floods or have been negatively affected in any other way.

The donation from Simmons’ German partners comes from the firmwide £2m donation pot announced by senior partner elect Julian Taylor today. This sum was enhanced by further donations from Simmons’ German employees, which were in turn doubled by the firm . Pulling this donation together in such short order reflects the one firm outlook embodied across Simmons, as well as its determination to be a positive force in its local communities.

Commenting on the donation, German country head Dr Hans-Hermann Aldenhoff stated: “We are deeply concerned by the suffering in the flood zones. Our thoughts are with the victims, who have lost their possessions, their homes or even their loved ones due to the massive floods. Our special compassion goes out to the children and their families whose lives have been impacted first as a result of Covid-19 and now due to the catastrophic floods."
