Simmons have advised Element Six, a global leader in synthetic diamond and advanced material solutions, on its strategic joint venture with Robert Bosch

International law firm Simmons & Simmons' multidisciplinary team, including experts in corporate, tax, commercial, antitrust, and intellectual property law, have advised Element Six, a De Beers Group company and global leader in synthetic diamond and advanced material solutions, on its strategic joint venture with Robert Bosch GmbH.

The collaboration marks a significant advancement in quantum sensing technology – a pioneering technology which uses the principles of quantum mechanics to measure properties with unprecedented precision.

The partnership will combine the expertise of both partners to drive innovation in this promising field, integrating Element Six’s synthetic diamond technology with Bosch’s quantum sensing's capabilities.

The joint venture, named Bosch Quantum Sensing, aims to revolutionise sectors such as natural resource exploration, aircraft navigation, and medical technology. The joint venture’s aim is to make quantum sensors more compact, portable, and scalable, with the long-term goal of integrating them onto a computer chip. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

The cross-border Simmons team was led by Corporate M&A Partner and Düsseldorf Office Head Dr Stephan Ulrich, supported by an integrated, multi-practice team across corporate, tax, commercial, antitrust, intellectual property and employment.
