International law firm Simmons & Simmons has hired its first chief operating officer (COO). The role, which has responsibility for our business services functions and operations, will be filled by Darren Mitchell who will join the firm on 28 February 2022.
Prior to joining Simmons, Darren spent a decade at Hogan Lovells and during his tenure, he led the implementation of the firm’s future operating model including digital transformation, real estate strategy and the delivery of globalised processes.
In this new role, Darren will be responsible for business services, with a specific focus on managing the implementation of cross functional programmes to support the firm’s strategic growth plans.
Commenting on Darren’s appointment to COO, managing partner Jeremy Hoyland said: “The creation of this position is a strategic move as we look to continue Simmons’ growth. Darren’s extensive experience and expertise in programme management will be key to the delivery of our ambitious plans for the future.”.
