International law firm Simmons & Simmons has today announced that Iris Dingemans will join the firm’s Amsterdam office as a partner in the firm’s financial markets practice. Iris will arrive at the firm on 1 January.
Iris is a funds expert specialising in the formation of investment funds. She advises on topics relevant for the investment team or investors, ranging from (co-) investment arrangements, to liquidity, (fund) governance and marketing of funds. Her expertise focuses both on the product and operational sides of the business of fund management, providing a comprehensive service for clients.
Joining the firm from PwC Legal Netherlands where she was head of the investment management team, following her 12 years at Freshfields, Iris brings a breadth of experience. Her practice is founded on her work with fund managers and investors who maintain a focus on alternative private funds; such as venture capital, private equity, real estate and infra- structure. Her expertise will bring new capabilities to Simmons’ Dutch office.
Commenting on Iris’ arrival, Dutch financial services partner and head of the Dutch financial markets team, Rezah Stegeman commented: “Iris will bolster our Dutch asset management offering and expand the firm’s cross-border capabilities in Europe, linking up with funds partners in Luxembourg and Ireland to provide a seamless experience for clients with multi-jurisdictional matters.”
On joining Simmons, Iris said: “I am very pleased to be joining Simmons and expanding the firm’s funds capabilities in Europe. From a global point of view, there has been a massive influx of capital into investment funds over the last couple of years and I expect that this trend will continue, thanks largely to the globalisation and use of technology. My expertise will position Simmons well to take advantage of the increasing need for funds advice in the Netherlands and across Europe.”.
