Simmons & Simmons boosts London corporate capability with energy and infrastructure partner hire

The appointment of market leading energy and infrastructure lawyer Alex Blomfield to join as partner, based in London.

Simmons & Simmons has announced the appointment of market leading energy and infrastructure lawyer Alex Blomfield to join as partner, based in London.

Alex will join from K&L Gates where he is a partner in the energy, infrastructure and resources practice. He has significant experience in the development, construction and financing of projects worldwide, predominantly in renewable energy. He has advised and represented project sponsors, lenders and national governments in relation to the development, construction, financing, sale and purchase of projects located in over fifty countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe.

His key credentials include acting for Norwegian wind developer NBT AS on the first limited-recourse of a wind power project in Ukraine and over 1 GW of wind power projects in Ukraine, as well as acting for Korea’s Hanwha Energy on the largest battery energy storage project in Europe.

Alex will be working closely with Iain Duncan, head of the firm’s energy, natural resources and infrastructure group in the UK.
