Meyntjens was the Managing Partner of Ashurst’s Brussels office from 2007 until he joined Simmons & Simmons in November 2016.
Speaking on his appointment, Meyntjens said: "We are committed to building on our strengths and see great potential for growth for the Brussels financial markets team, to complement our strong offerings in Amsterdam and Luxembourg."
Jonathan Hammond, head of the firm’s international financial markets practice added: "There is a great opportunity to build critical mass in Belgium. We want to build our presence to support our Benelux offering and welcome the experience Carl brings to our work in this area."
