Simmons advise Bridgestone Europe on acquisition of TomTom Telematics

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised Bridgestone on the €910m acquisition of TomTom Telematics.

This transaction was led by corporate partners Leo Verhoeff and Carl Meyntjens.

Bridgestone Europe NV has recently entered into an agreement with TomTom to acquire its Telematics business. The transaction will bring together Bridgestone as the world’s largest tyre and rubber company with the number one provider of digital fleet solutions in Europe, creating a leading data platform for connected vehicles.

The sale of the Telematics business is expected before the end of the second quarter of 2019, followed by the works council, antitrust and shareholders’ approval combined with a share consolidation to be executed in the third quarter of 2019.
