Vanessa
Sharman

Vanessa is a Supervising Associate in the firm’s Disputes & Investigations team in London. She is also a qualified Solicitor Advocate (Higher Courts Civil Proceedings). Her practice focuses on acting for clients on complex, high-value civil disputes. She has experience acting for clients on complex civil litigation and international arbitration, as well as in class action proceedings in the Competition Appeals Tribunal. She has also acted for a client in a significant government inquiry.

Vanessa acts for clients operating in a range of sectors, with a particular focus on telecommunications, media and technology (TMT). She has previously been seconded to a challenger bank where she managed the bank’s litigation and mediation practice.

Vanessa is a member of the firm's Contentious Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) group and is increasingly advising on the legal issues arising from the changing ESG regulatory landscape. Vanessa helps clients mitigate the risks of litigation and regulatory enforcement action and advises clients on how to manage and adapt to increasing stakeholder pressures. Vanessa’s recent work has focused on supply chain management and compliance in an ESG context.

Vanessa also provides pro bono advice to refugee and immigration charities, and recently visited Warsaw with Safe Passage International to provide legal advice to Ukrainian refugees on their rights and routes to the UK.
