Bristol Office
Our Bristol offices are based in Finzels Reach – the waterfront development driving enterprise in this southwestern city. Join our team and you’ll access premium clients with international reach, all while experiencing life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities.
London Office
You’ll find our London offices on Ropemaker Street, within the City of London – the beating heart of the financial world. As our biggest office, our London HQ acts as a key point in our international network, where we deal in every area and every sector.
Open Days
Want to step beyond the doors of our international firm? Our open days are a good place to start. During the day, you'll get to meet the team, get to grips with what a legal career is all about, and learn about the firm, our culture, and our opportunities.
We will be running an open day in Bristol on 13 November. Applications are now open and will close on 06 November 2025.

Spring insight scheme
Discover what it’s really like to be a Simmons & Simmons lawyer. Join us on a two day packed schedule of events and workshops, and have the opportunity to shadow a trainee. You’ll participate in interactive sessions, gain practical legal experience, and meet like-minded people at our social events.
The scheme takes place from 8-9 April 2026 in our London office and you’ll get paid £150 for the two days. Applications for our spring insight scheme open from 10 December 2025 - 31 January 2026.
Evolve placement year
The world of law is evolving. Fast. Can you help keep us at the forefront of our industry? Our Evolve placement gives you the platform you need. You’ll work with our lawyers and innovation teams to explore how we can embed emerging technologies across our business. What’s more, you’ll gain exposure to some of the most visionary companies who we call our clients. An inquisitive mind and an interest in a legal career are a must for this unique opportunity. Those who perform well on the placement will be offered a training contract for once they’ve finished their studies.
Our evolve placement year will take place from September 2026-2027 in our London office. Applications open from 15 October 2025 - 15 February 2026.
Vacation schemes and internships
Start to get under the surface of what it’s like to train here, with one of our paid schemes. We offer schemes in London and Bristol. You’ll learn more about our firm, so you can work out how you fit into our world, and how we fit into yours.
London summer vacation scheme
This two-week experience will give you a deeper understanding of our world, and you’ll leave feeling part of our team. With a trainee buddy and a supervising partner or associate on hand, you’ll be a part of working life at the firm. You’ll attend social events, do vital research and drafting work, and even meet with clients. It’s a packed schedule, including experience across two different departments, but by the end, you’ll have a strong sense of whether we’re right for you – and you for us.

Pay per week is £500
Scheme will take place from 29 June - 10 July 2026.
Open to penultimate-year and final-year university students or graduates of all degree disciplines.

Join us for two weeks and learn what it really means to be part of our team. We’ll assign you a trainee and a supervising partner or associate, and through everything from work experience to events to skill sessions, you’ll be part of working life at the firm. It’s a busy couple of weeks, but if you take advantage of every opportunity, you’ll gain a strong sense of whether we’re right for you – and you for us.

Pay per week is £450
Scheme will take place from 15 – 26 June 2026.

This is the start of your full-time career with Simmons & Simmons. Join us in London or Bristol to access a two-year programme, and an unexpected legal career. With four seats – that’s six-month stints in different practice areas – you’ll soon find out where your interests lie. And with the help of our unique Compass training programme, you’ll work your way up to qualifying as an associate with us. There’s a lot packed into your training contract, so we’ve created a full career journey to help you understand what’s involved and how it will benefit you.
To secure a training contract for September 2028 or March 2029, you must complete a vacation scheme with us.
