The latest developments and opinions on the Edinburgh Reforms – the UK Government’s new package of regulatory and tax reforms to the UK finance services sector.

On 9 December 2022, the UK Chancellor announced “The Edinburgh Reforms” - a new package for the UK financial services sector comprising 30 regulatory reforms that aim to take forward the government’s “ambition for the UK to be the world’s most innovative and competitive global financial centre". This is all against the backdrop of the Future Regulatory Framework Review outcomes which are being implemented in the Financial Services and Markets Bill currently in Parliament and is likely to be passed at some point in 2023.
