Event

In this series we brought together colleagues not only from the UK, but from across our international network to cover some of the hot topics facing the sector.

See our full agenda below and watch on demand:

Structuring long-term EU business models

With Brexit grace periods over, and the temporary permissions regime coming to an end, a number of insurers and insurance intermediaries are making changes to their business models and looking at the pros and cons of different cross-border business models. Colleagues from across our international network discuss the potential options, and related risks or opportunities, for London insurance market participants as well as their EU/EEA counterparts interested in doing business in the UK.

Professional Liability Risks

Insurers writing business into and out of the London market have all faced new types of exposures arising out of global events such as the pandemic and the Russia/Ukraine war, and associated and subsequent global economic turmoil. Our team will consider issues such as sanctions risks for law firms and their insurers, and the increased risk of cyber attacks and the effect of inflation on claims. We consider examples of such claims and the coverage issues that they raise.

Emerging technologies

New and changing technologies bring increased risks, and are causing concern for product liability insurers and manufacturers alike. Colleagues from across our network will look at the insurance and risk implications of issues like the growth of intangible products, the Metaverse and big data, AI, and the future of healthcare and life sciences including novel products and potential risks.

ESG – challenges for global insurers

All insurers are considering their exposure to ESG risk both from a claims and underwriting perspective, and within their own businesses. We give our view of the latest ESG developments and how best to manage key risks, including regulatory risk and related claims for financial institutions and corporates, and their directors and officers, and issues for construction professionals and their insurers.
