Robbert is a managing associate in our Corporate group in Amsterdam, focusing on mergers & acquisitions and is particularly skilled at advising private equity sponsors and private equity owned portfolio companies on M&A. He has a background in all aspects of corporate and civil law which makes him a versatile and adaptable lawyer.
While the majority of Robbert’s clients are private equity sponsors, such as Gilde Equity Management (one of Benelux’s major private equity houses), he also regularly advises corporate clients and managers, all in a large variety of transactions, including acquisitions, sales, co-investments, and supporting buy-and-build strategies. Robbert’s most notable recent experience involves advising Bridgestone on their €910m acquisition of TomTom Telematics.
With master’s degrees in both Dutch Law and Business Administration, Robbert is well placed to understand the wider business needs as well as the legal issues at hand.
Since joining the firm in 2012, Robbert has completed a secondment at our offices in London, was nominated for Best Young M&A Lawyer 2018, and successfully finalised his Grotius corporate law post-graduate course as well as a managerial finance course at the London School of Economics.
