General Experience

Gavin advises on a broad range of corporate finance including international and domestic M&A, public and private takeovers, auctions, reorganisations, capital markets and corporate governance.  He has particular experience in the financial institutions, life sciences and infrastructure sectors where he has advised a number of clients on IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, fundraisings and joint ventures.  His clients include listed and private corporates, investment banks, financial advisers and sponsors.

Background

Gavin joined Simmons & Simmons in 2006 as a partner in the Corporate & Commercial Group.  He was previously with a major international law firm where he spent over 10 years.  His time there included secondments to the capital markets group of the Hong Kong office and to a major US investment bank.

Gavin is recommended in Chambers for ‘high end’ corporate finance capability.  In 2005 he was ranked by Legal Week as one of the top associates for UK corporate transactions (by volume) and was placed 3rd in the Lawyer’s “Associate of the Year” awards.
