Each year the firm identifies a charity that will be supported by the London office. Our international offices each support their own choice of local charities.
Our London office charity of the year for 2010/11 is Scope, a national disability charity. Proposed by Neil Simmonds, a partner in our financial services department, the charity was voted for by an online poll of partners and employees.
Scope is a national charity that focuses on cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Their vision is to create a society where disabled people have the same opportunities to fulfil their life ambitions as non-disabled people. Scope supports over 35,000 disabled people and their families every year through a wide range of specialised services and projects in England and Wales.
The money raised this year by Simmons and Simmons will help support Scope Response - a free and unique service that offers information, advice and support to disabled people and their families at every stage of their lives.
80% of families with children who have severe or profound learning disabilities reach breaking point due to lack of support and 55% of families with a disabled child are living in or on the margins of poverty – Scope response aims to address these challenges.

For the last two years we have attained the Payroll Giving Gold Quality Mark Award. This is a symbol of excellence and is awarded to employers that have succeeded in generating sustainable income sources for UK charities through payroll giving.
