Banyan Tree development

  • advising a major local real estate developer in connection with the negotiation of hotel management agreements entered into with Banyan Tree

CLC World Resorts & Hotels

  • advising Interval Leisure Group and CLC on a joint venture to establish VRI Europe, which will provide resort management services at 21 managed resorts. Simmons & Simmons also advised CLC on the sale and establishment of the joint venture

ETA Star Properties

  • on the Marriott branded hotels and residences at Dubai Lifestyle City, the first branded residential scheme in the UAE

Europe Arab bank

  • on the construction financing for the Versace Hotel in Dubai

Grand Hyatt

  • advising the owner of the proposed Sofitel and Grand Hyatt Hotel in Doha on the management agreements for the hotel 

Grosvenor House Hotel

  • acting for the owner on the original sale & leaseback of this hotel in 2001, the reletting to Marriott in 2003 and then the disposal to Sahara in 2010 which was the largest ever single asset hotel transaction in Europe


  • acting on the development finance of a hotel led mixed use scheme in Bournemouth with a 172 key Hilton and a 120 key Hampton by Hilton, due to open in 2015

Holiday Inn

  • acting in relation to the development and franchise of a range of Holiday Inn Hotels within the MENA region

Intercontinental Hotel Group

  • advising the land owner on negotiating a hotel management agreement for a Crowne Plaza hotel in Business Bay, Dubai

Lanesborough Hotel

  • advising on the building, construction, and management contract for the Lanesborough Hotel in London on behalf of the owner the operator being Starwood Hotels and Resorts

Langham Hotel

  • acting for Great Eagle Holdings on the acquisition of the Langham Hilton Hotel

Macau developments

  • the design and construction of US$10bn+ developments in Macau spanning six separate projects including casinos, resorts, 12 hotels and related transport and infrastructure requirements

Ritz Carlton

  • the acquisition of the Ritz Carlton hotel in the Dubai International Financial Centre

Ritz Hotel, London

  • advising Barclay Brothers in connection with their acquisition of the Ritz Hotel London and reviewing and advising on the management contract

The Waldorf Hotel

  • the acquisition and financing of The Waldorf Hotel, London

W Hotel, Doha

  • advising in relation to management agreement on behalf of owner
