Our international team of lawyers has advised on some of the world's largest and most complex oil and gas projects. We have advised on a wide range of matters involving both upstream and downstream work. Our lawyers are familiar with contracts used in the licensing, exploration, development, production, transportation and abandonment of oil and gas fields and for the sale of gas and oil.


Energy Regulation

  • Aabar Petroleum Investments Company - advising Aabar Petroleum Investments Company in relation to the US$880m sale of Singpore based Pearl Energy, an upstream oil company with assets in South East Asia, which included the early redemption of Aabar's convertible sukuk
  • Citadel Capital - advising on the US $850m reserve-based financing and US $850m reserve-based refinancing of the acquisition of Rally Energy Corp, an oil and gas company with assets in Pakistan and Egypt, formerly listed on the Toronto and Frankfurt Stock Exchanges
  • ExxonMobil - advising ExxonMobil on various upstream matters in relation to the North Sea, including joint operating agreements, farm-ins and rig charters
  • Pico - advising on the US $330m Geisum oil and gas project financing in Egypt, the first oil and gas privatisation in Egypt.


  • Nabucco Gas Pipeline - advising the project company on a Turkey to Austria gas pipeline, which will go through five countries. The sponsors of this €5bn project include OMV, RWE, MOL, Tranzgas, Botas and Bulgargaz.


  • oil and gas major - advising on the terms of the offer for the sale of a refinery site complex and associated infrastructure and businesses in France.


  • Gate Terminal - advising on an LNG regasification terminal project to be developed on the Maasvlakte in the Port of Rotterdam
  • Sonatrach - advising the Algerian national oil and gas company in relation to the liquified natural gas (LNG) regasification terminal at the Isle of Grain in Kent, England.
