Peter specialises in mergers & acquisitions, corporate and business (re) structuring including real estate and IP-structuring and transfer pricing. He has extensive experience in negotiating Advance Pricing Agreements and Advance Tax Rulings with the Dutch Inland Revenue. Peter has advised many multinational companies on tax law, especially in cross border situations.

- advising a NYSE-listed group on a major business restructuring consisting of a simplification of the group structure, the expansion of the Dutch company as a principal in a commissionaire structure and the conversion of operating companies in various jurisdictions into commissionaires/stripped buy sell entities
- advising a Dutch treasury centre of a Russian oil company on various tax aspects of its operations
- sale of residential real estate complexes to German pension fund and Belgian listed real estate fund.
Peter studied fiscal economics at the Tilburg University from which he graduated cum laude in 1980. He joined Simmons & Simmons in July 2004.
Peter is a member of the Netherlands Association of Tax Advisors (NOB) and is member of the International Affairs section and Transfer Pricing section. In addition he is member of the NOB Disciplinary Board. He is also member of The Taxation committee of the International Bar Association, the Taxation section of the American Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association. He is a lecturer for the education foundation of the NOB where he lectures on the international aspects of the Dutch participation exemption and the fiscal unity regime and gives permanent education lectures. He regularly lectures at national and international conferences and seminars. Peter speaks German fluently.
