Hines acquires Fresh Park Venlo

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has advised US investor, Hines on the acquisition of Fresh Park Venlo in the Netherlands from the Koninklijke Coöperatieve Telersvereniging Zuidoost Nederland (ZON).
Hines is a global real estate investment, development and management firm, with a presence in 207 cities in 24 countries. The royal ZON is a distinguished player in the international world of fruit and vegetables.
Corporate/ Real Estate M&A partner, Rob Hendriks said: “This transaction is not only the largest logistics single asset deal in the Netherlands, but also the largest acquisition in Dutch real estate for international investor Hines. It was a privilege for our team to assist Hines on this major, complex, and high-profile transaction.”
Real Estate partner, Luc Cohen continued: “Transactions in the Dutch real estate market are growing in deal size and in terms of complexity, requiring in-depth knowledge of both real estate markets and financing structures. Because of this, we greatly expanded our real estate team in Amsterdam. The team now comprises over thirty specialised lawyers, notaries and tax lawyers.”
