10 Oct 2018
The global IFN Law Awards reward the best legal firms with Islamic finance capabilities and services, taking into consideration a firm's inventive and progressive spirit in terms of expansion, innovation, impact and development.
The firm was specifically recognised for a range of FinTech subsets including digital wallets, digitisation programmes and payments innovation led by various banks which integrate blockchain data structures and the launch of new payment schemes.
Our FinTech team provided end-to-end counsel, including on technology licensing, product rollout, cross-border regulatory issues and Sharia compliance in relation to various new FinTech initiatives.
Commenting on our approach which led to winning this award, Middle East head of TMT and FinTech lead Raza Rizvi said: “We are thrilled to have supported visionary and pioneering clients on their FinTech milestones and for our cross-practice approach recognised in this complex sector.”
Middle East head of financial markets and global Islamic finance, Muneer Khan continued: “we are delighted that Islamic Finance News have recognised the momentum we have generated by awarding us this prestigious title for the second year in a row.”
Earlier this year, the firm was also awarded Middle East TMT Team of The Year at the 2018 Middle East Legal Awards and TMT Team of the Year 2017 at the Oath Middle East Legal Awards.
