Firm announces new sector heads

International law firm Simmons & Simmons has announced new partners to lead its sector groups for financial institutions and life sciences.
Financial services partner Charlotte Stalin will succeed Jonathan Hammond as the firm’s head of financial institutions on 01 May 2017. Charlotte is based in London and specialises in UK and European regulatory matters, advising financial institutions on key regulatory developments, including MiFID2 and Brexit. She joined the firm as a partner in 2006 and was named “Legal Innovator of the Year” at the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards in October 2016.
Financial institutions is the largest of the firm’s sector groups, working with 30 of the world’s top 50 banks in the last year alone. The position is currently held by Jonathan Hammond, who has been in the role since 2011. He will continue to lead the firm’s financial markets practice and chair the firm’s Innovation Group.
Dispute resolution partner Alexandre Regniault will succeed Jacques-Antoine Robert as the firm’s head of life sciences also on 01 May. Alexandre joined the firm in 2002 and became a partner in 2008. Alexandre is based in Paris and specialises in dispute resolution and regulatory advice, for pharmaceutical, medical devices and biotech companies, and their insurers. He has developed specific expertise in legal and strategic advice on health products market access, from clinical trials to health technology assessment, pricing and reimbursement. Alexandre is experienced in crisis management and frequently liaises with the French regulatory authorities on behalf of industry players.
The position is currently held by Jacques-Antoine Robert, who has fulfilled this role since 2009. Jacques-Antoine is recognised by Chambers as a Star Individual for Pharma/Life Sciences and will continue to fulfil management roles within the firm.
