Joris heads the employment & benefits department for The Netherlands. He is an all round employment law specialist, with extensive experience in all sectors, including Financial Institutions, Life Sciences, TMT and Energy & Infrastructure. His experience covers transactional and advisory work, and also acting as a litigator in contentious matters. He regularly advises and acts on behalf of clients in respect of collective and individual dismissal cases, works council issues and transfers of undertaking.

Before he qualified, Joris studied law in Utrecht and subsequently at New York University School of Law with a Fulbright scholarship. Prior to joining the firm he worked for another large international law firm, both in its Amsterdam and New York City offices.
He is a frequent lecturer on employment law related topics, such as collective dismissals.
