Jonathan acts for international investment banks in relation to CDOs and repackaged securities and other asset backed structures, with particular expertise in synthetic transactions. He also advises major banks as arrangers and trustees on debt capital markets transactions and securitisations.

- advising JP Morgan as arranger on the establishment of its Corsair platform and multiple managed and static CDOs issued under it
- advising The Royal Bank of Scotland on a range of synthetic CDOs issued under the Solar and Lunar programmes
- advising Banco Santander Central Hispano (Santander) on the bank’s first managed collateralised debt obligation (CDO). This is the first transaction of this type structured by a Spanish bank
- advising Morgan Stanley on structured debt capital market transactions.
Jonathan qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and became a partner in 2001. From 1996 to 2000 he worked in the financial markets practice in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
Jonathan is international head of the firm's financial markets group as well as leading the national financial markets group in the UK. He is also a partner in the capital markets group in London and head of the firm's financial institutions sector group.
