Dr Daniel Kendziur
Daniel specialises in intellectual property law. He has many years’ experience in unfair competition law cases, trademark and copyright litigation, including software-related copyright questions and “design patents”.
Daniel is a partner in our Munich office and a frequent annotator on IP law questions in newspapers. He regularly speakes at key industry conferences and events. Daniel also is the firm’s go-to expert on plant variety rights and a key member of our automotive sector group. As such, he is informed by his first-hand knowledge of this sector and its commercial and legal challenges. Daniel joined us in 2013 after having qualified as a German lawyer in 2010 and working as an IP lawyer in the Frankfurt and San Diego offices of another international law firm. He helped launching our Munich IP practice which has been growing ever since. During his time at Simmons & Simmons, he has also worked in our Milan office. Daniel became a partner in 2018.
While writing his doctoral thesis at the University of Passau and during his legal traineeship, he spent time in the New York office and worked for the Frankfurt IP department of another large international law firm.
Daniel is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR).
